Baby Shower Brunch Food Ideas You Can Make The Day Before

Posted by

These baby shower brunch food ideas make planning and preparing your party menu a breeze.

That’s because all of the baby shower brunch foods on this list can be made ahead of time; either prepped the night before to go in the oven the day of OR made entirely the day before the party.

Personally, I find that preparing foods in advance makes hosting a party so much more enjoyable. When things are ready, I can relax with a mimosa and visit with friends without spending all of my time in the kitchen.

If you’re the host of a baby shower brunch, I suggest you do the same!

To make your menu planning easy, I’ve divided these baby shower brunch food ideas into five groups:

  • Party trays
  • Pastries
  • Sausage, bacon and eggs
  • Fruit
  • Potatoes

This way you can choose foods from each group to create a complete meal.

In addition to the ideas and recipes, I’ll also answer questions you might have such as:

  • What is a good time for a baby shower brunch?
  • How many dishes should you serve for brunch?
  • What are some cheap foods to serve at a baby shower?

Ready? Let’s start planning!

What is a good time for a baby shower brunch?

A baby shower brunch should be held on a Saturday or Sunday beginning at a typical brunch hour between 10am-2pm.

My preference is for a start time of 11am. This feels the most between breakfast and lunch, in my opinion.

After brunch, guests typically play baby shower games and then watch the mom-to-be open gifts.

How many dishes should you serve for brunch?

Depending upon the size of your party, I recommend choosing 1-2 dishes from each baby shower brunch food group to add variety.

When designing your baby shower brunch menu, you may also wish to be sensitive to any food allergies or dietary restrictions your guests may have. I have highlighted gluten-free and vegan options for this reason.

What are some cheap foods to serve at a baby shower?

On a budget? Here are some cheap baby shower brunch foods to serve at the party:

  • Deviled eggs
  • Bagels with spreads (PB, Nutella, jam, cream cheese)
  • Chocolate covered strawberries
  • Crackers and cheese
  • Muffins
  • Biscuits
  • Quiche
  • Breakfast potatoes
  • Veggies or seasonal fruit with dip

I’ll explore these ideas plus lots more in further detail next.
